Child Abuse Prevention and Policies
The Colton School Board has adopted a number of policies that address Child Abuse reporting requirements and procedures which are based on state law. The safety and wellbeing of the students under our care is of upmost importance. Anyone who works for a school district is considered a Mandatory Reporter, and is required by state law to report to DHS any incident of child abuse and/or neglect that comes to their attention.
Below you will find the Colton Policies regarding Child Abuse Reporting and specific reporting requirements regarding sexual conduct by an adult directed toward a student based on House Bill 2062 requirements. You will also find a Quick Reference poster regarding House Bill 2062.
If you have reason to suspect child abuse, contact Clackamas County DHS (971-673-7112) or local law enforcement immediately.
