The Colton School District is located in the foothills of the Mt. Hood National Forest, approximately 45 miles from the centers of Salem and Portland. The district consists of grades K-12, in a configuration of K-5, 6-8, 9-12. The district enrollment is approximately 600 students. Our schools have been rated among the highest on the Oregon Report Card and our students consistently exceed state averages in all areas. The support given to the School District by the Board, community members and parents has always been a great asset to the District’s ability to operate outstanding schools.
The area of Colton is located between Molalla and Estacada. The school district encompasses 189 square miles consisting mostly of public and private timberland. The district’s students come from areas that represent four different zip codes, five fire districts and four telephone exchanges (Beavercreek, Colton, Estacada and Molalla). Most students take school-provided transportation to and from school.
Our goals continue to focus on student academic expectations and achievement, exceptional school culture and increasing technology.
Colton schools benefit from a high degree of volunteerism from parents who assist in classrooms, sponsor special activities, raise money to support school activities and participate in school events.
The Colton School District provides equal educational opportunities to all students.
