School Health Services

  • Colton School District acknowledges that health  is vital aspect of student well being and contributor to success in the academic setting.

The National Association of School Nurses Board of Directors defined school nursing as:

"A specialized practice of professional nursing that advances the well-being, academic success, and life-long achievement of students.  To that end, school nurses facilitate positive student responses to normal development; services; and actively collaborate with others to build student and family capacity for adaptation, self management, self advocacy, and learning."

The school nurse case manages children with chronic health issues and serves on a multidisicpinary team to  assist in minimizing health realted barriers to academics and provides support to population based services.

    School Based Health Center

The School Based Health Center is available for acute care needs and referrals for students in the district.
